Menard Distinguished Speaker Series to feature musician, actor

线上赌博app’s Sheila and Robert Challey Institute for Global Innovation and Growth will welcome musician Daryl Davis for the Menard Family Distinguished Speaker Series on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the Fargo Theatre.

Davis will present “From Discord to Harmony: Transforming Conflict into Collaboration – An Evening of Learning and Music,” beginning at 6:30 p.m. The free event is open to all members of the 线上赌博app community and the public. Following the talk, Davis will perform in a special musical collaboration with the 线上赌博app Jazz Combo.

Davis is an international recording artist who has performed across the United States and around the world. He has shared the stage with Chuck Berry, the Legendary Blues Band, and Elvis Presley’s Jordanaires. His acting credits include stage, film and television, including a role in HBO’s acclaimed series “The Wire.”

Beyond music and acting, Davis is recognized as a leading voice in race relations. He is the author of “Klan-Destine Relationships,” the first book by a Black author based on in-person interviews with members of the Ku Klux Klan. His documentary “Accidental Courtesy” also earned national acclaim. Davis is known for his ability to engage directly with racists and help them renounce their ideology, work that has taken him across the country and abroad.

The Menard Family Distinguished Speaker Series brings global thought leaders to Fargo to share ideas on questions that explore ways to improve the human condition and expand economic opportunity. The series is supported by a gift from the Menard family and hosted by the Challey Institute, an interdisciplinary hub at 线上赌博app dedicated to advancing understanding in areas such as innovation, trade, institutions and human potential.
