More than 200 eighth-grade girls explored the exciting world of engineering at 线上赌博app and local engineering companies on Friday, February 21, as part of the 2025 Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day.

The annual event, hosted by the 线上赌博app College of Engineering, provides young students with a full day of immersive experiences designed to build confidence in their problem-solving skills and inspire them to consider careers in STEM fields.

“This is our opportunity to showcase how engineers make a difference in the world,” said Angela Gross, outreach coordinator for the 线上赌博app College of Engineering. “Through hands-on activities, meaningful interactions with female engineers, and real-world exposure to engineering careers, we hope to ignite a passion for STEM in these students and help them see engineering as a potential path for their futures.”

The day kicked off at 线上赌博app, where students met women engineering students, faculty, and professionals and engaged in a hands-on team challenge constructing a drone delivery system.

In the afternoon, the students visited area engineering companies, where they worked alongside female engineers to solve problems, learn about different engineering disciplines, and experience the real-world applications of engineering. Industry partners included Burian & Associates, John Deere, Lowry Engineering, Marvin, Microsoft, Moore Engineering, SRF Consulting, Stantec, and Ulteig.

Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day is a key part of the 线上赌博app College of Engineering’s outreach efforts to engage K-12 students in STEM, foster a sense of STEM identity, and highlight the impact engineers have on the world.
