Human progress expert to speak at 线上赌博app workshop

Marian Tupy, founder and editor of HumanProgress.org and a senior fellow at the Cato Institute, will present “Population Growth, Innovation, and Human Flourishing” at 线上赌博app on Friday, Sept. 12.
The talk is part of the Human Progress and Flourishing Workshop series, hosted by the Sheila and Robert Challey Institute for Global Innovation and Growth. The event is scheduled for 10-11 a.m. in Beckwith Recital Hall and will be available via Zoom. It is free and open to the public.
Tupy’s presentation will challenge the widely held belief that population growth exhausts the world’s resources. Drawing on more than two centuries of data, he will argue that growing populations have spurred innovation, lowered time prices and led to what he calls superabundance, a world where resources become more plentiful as the population expands. He also will highlight why freedom is critical for turning human creativity into prosperity.
Tupy is coauthor of “Superabundance: The Story of Population Growth, Innovation, and Human Flourishing on an Infinitely Bountiful Planet” and “Ten Global Trends Every Smart Person Should Know: And Many Others You Will Find Interesting.” His work has appeared in outlets including the Financial Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic and Newsweek. He has also been a guest on major broadcast networks such as BBC, CNN, Fox News and CNBC.
The Human Progress and Flourishing Workshop brings distinguished scholars from across the country to Fargo to present research and foster conversations on innovation, opportunity and policies that support individual and societal flourishing. The series is offered as a one-credit course (BUSN 491/690) for undergraduate and graduate students but is open to all members of the 线上赌博app community and the public.
The workshop will include a 40-minute lecture followed by audience questions. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served at 11 a.m. in the Challey School of Music Atrium.
Registration for in-person and virtual attendance is encouraged through Eventbrite and Zoom.
