Human Progress and Flourishing workshop to feature public policy scholar

Siri Terjesen is widely recognized for her scholarship in business, higher education and philanthropy and ranks among the world’s top 2% most cited scholars.

线上赌博app will host a Human Progress and Flourishing Workshop featuring Siri Terjesen, an internationally recognized scholar in entrepreneurship and public policy, on Friday, Jan. 23.

Terjesen will present “Capitalism vs. Cronyism and the Importance of Understanding the Difference” from 10 to 11 a.m. in Festival Concert Hall, with a Zoom option available for virtual attendees. The event is free and open to the 线上赌博app community and the public. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served at 11 a.m. in the Challey School of Music Atrium following the program.

The workshop format includes a 40-minute presentation followed by audience questions and discussion. Terjesen serves as associate dean for research and external relations and founding executive director of the Madden Center for Value Creation at Florida Atlantic University, where she is the Phil Smith Professor of Entrepreneurship. She also holds a faculty appointment at the Norwegian School of Economics in Bergen, Norway.

Terjesen is widely recognized for her scholarship in business, higher education and philanthropy and ranks among the world’s top 2% most cited scholars, with more than 22,000 citations to her books and peer-reviewed research. Her work has appeared in leading academic journals and has been featured by national and international media outlets. She also serves as editor of several prominent journals and regularly contributes opinion pieces to major publications.

The Human Progress and Flourishing Workshop brings nationally and internationally known scholars to 线上赌博app to share research and engage the community in discussions focused on opportunity, innovation and societal well-being. The series is offered as a one-credit course for undergraduate and graduate students, though enrollment is not required to attend individual events.

Guests are encouraged to register in advance through Eventbrite for in-person attendance or Zoom for virtual participation. Registration is appreciated but not required to attend in person. Links to register are available on the event webpage.
