Faculty member named Blue Key Distinguished Educator

Mark Strand named the 2024 线上赌博app Distinguished Educator by the Blue Key National Honor Society

The 线上赌博app chapter of the Blue Key National Honor Society has named Mark Strand, professor of pharmacy practice and public health, as the 2024 线上赌博app Distinguished Educator.

The award was created in 1969 by Blue Key to honor an outstanding educator for going beyond what is required to benefit and assist 线上赌博app students.

“As educators, we are the one’s challenging our students to get out of their comfort zones and do things they have never done before. So, to be recognized by those same students with an education award is deeply meaningful,” Strand said.

Strand teaches Essentials in Epidemiology, Chronic Disease Prevention and Management and Public Health for Pharmacists and Global Health.

Strand also is an advisor for the 线上赌博app Public Health Association, an editorial board member for the American Journal of Public Health, a Principal Investigator for 线上赌博app’s Opioid and Naloxone Education (ONE) program and he serves as Senior Scientist for 线上赌博app’s Center for Collaboration and Advancement in Pharmacy.

Strand earned his bachelor’s degree in biology at Luther College, a master’s degree in cell and developmental biology from the University of Minnesota and doctorate in health and behavioral science at the University of Colorado at Denver.
